Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Beef Sustainability Leader with a deep understanding of the beef industry and sustainable practices to join our team in Opelika, AL. This position will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, safety, and sustainability of our beef products from farm to fork. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cow/calf farming, feedlot operations, harvesting, processing, and a strong grasp of the beef industry landscape.   • Master's degree or higher in Agriculture, Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the beef industry, with hands-on experience in cow/calf farming, feedlot operations, and processing.
  • Strong knowledge of beef production processes, sustainability practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Experience in implementing and managing sustainability initiatives is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of beef production, from sourcing to processing, ensuring adherence to sustainability practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cow/calf farmers and feedlot operators to optimize animal welfare, feed efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
  • Manage relationships with key players in the beef industry, including suppliers, processors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure product consistency and safety throughout the supply chain.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability performance.
  • Provide leadership and support to production staff, promoting a culture of excellence and environmental stewardship.
