Travel: Yes, but minimal.

Work week: Monday through Friday, hybrid work setting (depends on the workload, but options to work from home depending on workload)

Compensation: $82,000 to $188,000 (compensation is commensurate with your experience)

Education / Certifications:  Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or related field required.

Required Experience: 

  • 3+ years of experience in digital hardware design and development or related experience
  • Proficiency with schematic capture tools (e.g., OrCAD, Altium, Mentor Graphics)
  • Understanding of real-time compute and signal processing hardware solutions
  • Familiarity with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
  • Must be eligible for a Secret Security clearance.

 Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience developing control and signal processing algorithms in FPGAs
  • Experience implementing low-level C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
  • Experience within the defense industry
  • Current Secret Clearance (or higher)

Job Description: 

 

As a Digital Hardware Engineer you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, bring-up, and integration of high-end compute and signal processing circuit cards for cutting-edge radar and electronic warfare systems. You will work with the latest processors, FPGAs, memories, and converters and take ownership of digital circuit card designs from concept through production. You will be part of a diverse, cross-functional team of hardware, FPGA, systems, and software engineers creating innovative products that meet the demands of our clients and stay at the cutting-edge of technological advancements in digital design.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital subsystems comprised of field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), microprocessors, high-speed communication links, and high bandwidth memory interfaces
  • Interface with RF designs and unique mechanical packaging in support of novel radar and EW systems
  • Basic soldering skills and familiarity with typical lab equipment (DMM, scopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, temperature chambers, EMI chambers, …)
  • Design and test custom high-speed circuit boards
  • Perform board- and system-level integration and test of new designs
  • Provide engineering support for production programs
  • Participate in team-based environments for large systems
  • Use scripting languages such as Perl and Python to automate tasks
  • Analyze collected data in software tools such as MATLAB
  • Design firmware for FPGAs using VHDL
  • Program microcontrollers in C/C++
  • Provide strategic/big picture technical leadership
