What’s the Opportunity?

We are seeking an experienced civil and/or environmental engineer for one of our Washington offices (Seattle, Tacoma, or Bellingham). Typical project locations will be based in the Pacific Northwest, but assignments may also include work on projects nationwide. Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work on a variety of tasks of differing complexities, both independently and in team environments, learn directly from leaders in the industry, and provide mentoring to our junior staff. We are interested in a candidate that has the capacity to grow and is a quick learner, detail-orientated, and a committed team player.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing projects and tasks, including team assignments and coordination, client interaction, and production of deliverables
  • Performing and/or overseeing engineering analyses/evaluations for a range of multi-disciplinary projects including upland and sediment remediation, waterfront development, restoration, and source control projects
  • Preparing and/or overseeing design documents and supporting deliverables, including engineering calculations, cost estimates, design drawings, and specifications
  • Technical writing to support the preparation of sampling and analysis plans, remedial investigation and feasibility study reports, and design documents, including design drawings and technical specifications
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of environmental and engineering data
  • Developing and managing scopes of work, budgets, and schedules for projects
  • Working with other senior engineering staff to identify and develop new projects and clients, prepare proposals, and capture new work
  • Mentoring and training of junior staff on engineering principles and design, depending on existing experience and level

What Are We Looking For?

  • Ideal candidates will have the following:
  • BS or MS degree in relevant field (e.g., Civil or Environmental Engineering) (MS, preferred)
  • More than 10 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with in-water or upland remediation sites, including the planning and implementation of sampling, data analysis, feasibility studies, and remedial design.  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in remediating contaminated sediments, including capping and dredging projects.
  • Experience with CERCLA, RCRA and MTCA regulations and application to various stages of a remediation project a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Project a plus)
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS experience a plus
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure or plan to obtain in near future
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (preferred; will be provided by us upon hire if not currently certified)
  • Ability to travel for field and/or construction projects and project meetings (may be up to 10-30%, depending on project needs)
