Job location: 1300 South 2nd Street, Pekin, IL 61554 Relocation assistance available.

Work week: 6:00pm to 6:00am

  1. Week A: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday 
  2. Week B: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday 

Salary Range: $75,000 + a discretionary bonus (up to 10% of gross) + discretionary stock options ($10,000/vests in 3 years)

Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering preferred.

Required Experience: Willing to entertain new graduates for this position if they have the right education and had relevant internships.

Preferred Experience: Experience with Chemical Manufacturing/Processing, Alcohol/Ethanol experience.

The company is focused on products for four key markets: Health, Home & Beauty; Food & Beverage; Essential Ingredients; and Renewable Fuels. The company’s customers include major food and beverage companies and consumer products companies. 

Our Pekin campus produces products destined for Health, Food and Beverage and Industrial markets. All personnel are responsible for the safety of these products, which includes participation in training, following cGMP and food safety requirements in the facility, and reviewing and following SOPs for incoming ingredients and outgoing products.

Job Purpose: The Operations Coordinator/Supervisor is charged with overseeing the safe and efficient production of alcohols, food and feed products as well as the utilities systems that support the operation.

The following is a list of major duties and responsibilities for this position along with certain supportive duties. It is not all-inclusive. Other duties and responsibilities may be added as needed and in addition; and, management may modify this job description as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure proper operation of the various departments within safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Supervise hourly workforce as per individual job responsibilities and per the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Identify and correct process deviations to maintain operational parameters.
  • Employee training.
  • Overall process optimization.
  • Ensure that all products are within quality specifications.
  • Communicate with maintenance department to ensure repair and availability of equipment.
  • Allocate available utilities and resources to maximize rate.
  • Fill in for Area Managers or take on special assignments as needed.


Position Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent experience and knowledge of steam, fermentation, evaporation, separation, distillation or drying.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Ability to plan and organize the work of others
  • Ability to delegate and meet deadlines
  • Writing and basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to work off shifts

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in cold to hot temperatures; work around dust, fumes, and/or moderate to loud noises; works inside and/or outside;
  • Able to climb stairs and ladders; walk on paved and unpaved surfaces; sit at a desk and operate a computer and keyboard; visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear, speak, and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend, stoop, stand, and reach;
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
