Position Overview:

As a Senior Food Scientist specializing in Liquid Product Development, you will play a crucial role in bringing exciting new products to market. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Product Development, you will be based in our lab attached to the manufacturing plant in Conyers, taking products from the conceptual stage to full-scale production.

Location: Conyers, GA (Onsite) - Relocation assistance available

Travel: 25% domestic travel required

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 + 7-10.5% annual bonus + full benefits package

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and formulate liquid products, with a focus on sandwich sauces, dipping sauces, and syrups for shake mixes and coffee drinks.
  • Take ownership of the entire product development process, from bench-scale testing to scaling up in the manufacturing plant.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product integration and successful commercialization.
  • Provide technical support in troubleshooting and resolving issues in the manufacturing environment.
  • Engage directly with customers, working closely with high profile fast food chains.
  • Work within a fast-paced environment, with turnaround times for new product development as short as 4 months.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in food and/or beverage product development.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science. 
  • Experience scaling up new products in a manufacturing environment, with a strong comfort level in a plant setting.
  • Direct experience dealing with customers is essential.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in liquid product or beverage development, including aseptic/dairy products.
  • Consideration given to candidates with experience in dry blend, confectionary, or baking product development if they have prior liquid/beverage experience.
  • Preference for foodservice product development over retail product development.
