Shift Available: (Rotating) Will work an average of 2 weekends every 6 weeks.
2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off (rotating schedule between crews) 6 am to 6 pm for 2 days, 6 pm to 6 am the next two days, then 4 days off.
We are looking for someone capable of performing tasks necessary to efficiently control the operation of extrusion line from raw material input to finished product. Assist SAC in troubleshooting lines as well as training and developing new Technicians. Ability to help back up the SAC in the event a SAC is unable to be present.
Duties:
Maintains a clean and orderly work area/warehouse
Maintains a safe working environment by following all company safety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents
Maintains the company’s quality standards
Learn and understand the equipment and process of making plastic film
Teach new operators the basics of operation, including operating the equipment, performing Safe Work Permits, quality testing, and other tasks required of operators
Operation of the extrusion line and its operational functions which would include but are not limited to; machine set-up, films, and resins, color concentrates and/or additives, production speeds (input or output), start and stop functions, change over, downtimes, die and screw tear down, screen pack, line-specific tools and proper lockout/tag-out procedures
Maintain extruded product to required gauge, length, width, bond strength, and color, dyne, maintaining surface finish or identifying surface defects and performing quality control tests required. This includes double-checking and data collection procedures currently in place
Transfers data to the daily production log book, quality control documents, or forms used in the production process
Work on a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and possible call-ins
Follow the production schedule and other related documents necessary to produce and meet customer orders including those with instructions
Communicate line malfunctions in a timely manner to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimal
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent and/or 1-2 years of experience or a forklift certification
Ability to read production tickets
Ability to work at an accelerated pace
Ability to perform math calculations; and measure using a measuring tape or other instruments
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Must have organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and multi-task
Must possess good problem-solving skills.
Must be computer literate
Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods of time
