Work week: Monday through Friday - salaried

Salary Range: $120,000 to $140,000 + a discretionary bonus (up to 15% of gross) + discretionary stock options ($10,000/vests in 3 years)

Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field. Preference on candidates with the Electrical Engineering background.

Required Experience: 6+ years of experience in project engineering. Experience in running projects from inception to completion. Someone with 4 years’ experience as a Project Engineer ($90-$95K + 10% bonus)

Preferred Experience: Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Microsoft Project, ISO 9001, Exipact

Our Pekin campus produces products destined for Health, Food and Beverage and Industrial markets. All personnel are responsible for the safety of these products which includes participation in training, following HACCP, cGMP and FSMA requirements, and reviewing and following SOPs for incoming ingredients and outgoing products. Our Pekin facility is an ISO 9001, API, EXIPACT, ICHQ7 certified facility following strict PSM requirements.

Job Purpose: This position is responsible for improving system reliability and maintainability by identifying and managing asset reliability risks throughout the facility and developing proper asset reliability strategies. This position will also lead development and execution of capital and/or maintenance projects including design, engineer, procurement, construction, start-up, and commission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize analytical and engineering tools to identify, reduce, and/or eliminate repeated equipment failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines asset maintenance plan that includes value-added preventive maintenance tasks and effective utilization of Preventive and Predictive Maintenance such as mechanical integrity, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, lubrication, failure analysis, and general facilities infrastructure
  • Responsible for ranking the criticality of the assets, typically using Reliability Centered Maintenance approaches, and for defining the proactive maintenance approaches.
  • Conducts program and system & equipment audits on a periodic and as needed basis focused on safety, regulatory compliance, maintenance effectiveness, cost savings, and energy conservation.
  • Maintains records on equipment histories and costs, coordinates with operations and maintenance supervisors for needed changes toward increasing reliability. Coordinates the creation of the spare parts list and lubrication list for the entire plant in conjunction with Vendor recommendations and industry standards making use of plant CMMS
  • Communicating with stakeholders informing them of KPI, incidents, impact, and recommended actions. Assists in the selection, testing, training and development of in-house technicians for repair and diagnosis. Be a backup to the Maintenance Supervisor for directing in-field supervision of plant mechanics and contractors
  • Actively participate in planned and unplanned outages/turn-arounds. Execute small to medium capital and/or maintenance projects.
  • Identify and retain multidisciplinary engineering services required to complete the project. Track engineering work and ensure proper communication between all disciplines. Ensure proper document control and filing.
  • Prepare procurement packages, lead competitive bid process, purchase, expedite and inspect materials, equipment services etc.
  • Project controls including cost estimation and tracking, schedule preparation and tracking, contract administration, management of change orders, claims and/or disputes.
  • Construction management including work progress tracking, quality control, safety and security, materials and equipment management, and supervision. Ensure compliance with all environmental and regulatory obligations.
  • Communication including reporting to management, reporting to operations and/or maintenance and communication between multidisciplinary contractors.
  • Lead equipment start-up, commissioning, and training process. Ensure proper turn-over of project to operations and maintenance including drawings, documents, procedures, spare parts, maintenance schedules, and support services.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or other engineering
  • 6 to 10 years of experience
  • Software such as Auto CAD
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing competing priorities.
  • Experience working with diverse management styles and temperaments.

Qualifications:

  • Competent working with computers; working knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office, and other computer software;
  • Ability to maintain upmost confidentiality in all matters related to the position.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, e.g. printer, copy machine, facsimile machine, multiple phone lines, etc.;
  • Excellent time management skills and proven ability to prioritize tasks/projects;

Physical Requirements:
