Job location: 209 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210

Compensation: $55,000 to $65,000 + 8% bonus 

Work week:  M – F, salaried, 8am to 5pm.  In the office, not a remote position.

Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Experience: 2+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, GAAP principals

Reasons for disqualification: Not passing background tests which includes drug and criminal testing.


Job Description: 

The staff accountant will assist with month end close processes, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations. The successful candidate will need to be effective and experienced in the general accounting function. This position will support various aspects of the financial cycle including, but not limited to, assisting in various audits, and monitoring metrics of the business to aide in daily operational decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a strong understanding of accounting principles
  • Minimum two (2) years accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with concentration in Accounting
  • Ability to multi-task while working independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Must have a positive attitude

Responsibilities:

  • Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals
  • Process daily or weekly cash clearing and reconcile to the bank statement
  • Research and resolve credit card discrepancies
  • Setup and record amortization for prepaid items
  • Maintain contract summary files
  • Prepare journal entries to record payroll and reimbursable expenses
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and expense journals for the corporate card program
  • Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounts to ensure correct account classification and accuracy
  • Coordinate with third party filer on sales and use tax filings and state registration matters/questions
  • Provide support in completing the annual audit
  • Monitor and track the spending of capital expenditures
  • Maintain fixed asset records
  • Maintain vendor records
  • Represent the company professionally in all internal and external interactions

Complete additional duties and/or special projects as assigned in response to changing business conditions and/or requirements
