Job location: 209 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210

Compensation: $65,000 to $75,000 + bonus (8% depending on experience)

Work week:  M – F, salaried, 8am to 5pm.  In the office, not a remote position.

Education / Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting

Experience: 5+ years of experience in general ledger accounting, GAAP principals

Preferred Experience: CPA, regional accounting firm experience (auditing experience), SAP

Reasons for disqualification: Not passing background tests which includes drug and criminal testing.

General Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting
  • CPA Preferred, not required
  • Regional Accounting firm experience preferred, not required
  • 5+ years of experience general ledger accounting, or combination of audit and private company experience
  • Have a general understanding US GAAP
  • Have a desire to grow by supporting the company and team in projects that may arise through company initiatives or through acquisition
  • Experience supporting and working with other departments in achieving company goals

Support the organization and culture by:

  • Maintaining a good working relationship with teammates and peers
  • Working with various departments to provide ongoing support
  • Identifying areas where data or information could be and suggesting advanced training, as necessary

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Review new contracts for proper treatment and calculate appropriate amortization period
  • Prepare analyses and propose journals for any identified mid-month reconciliations
  • Marketing contracts, including Pro Staff contract accumulation and maintenance
  • Technology contracts maintenance
  • Validate and reconcile Customer CoOp allowances
  • Validate and reconcile Customer noncontract allowances
  • Support the senior accountant in corporate accruals/research when requested
  • Insurance
  • Professional Fees
  • Debt
  • Maintain fixed assets for the global organization
  • Reconcile and prepare commission calculations payable
  • Prepare the Amex/Concur reconciliation and prepare a journal for posting monthly T&E expense
  • Support the FP&A team and the organization in understanding the fluctuations in balances under the position’s purview 

Other responsibilities:

  • Support year end audit processes and discuss balances with the auditors as requested
  • Prepare ProStaff 1099 reconciliations for contract amounts and free goods
  • Travel may be requested on an ad hoc basis to support subsidiaries and future integration initiatives
