Job Description Highlights:

The Sr. Voice Engineer is responsible for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) on-site engineering, installation oversight, system configuration, testing, system migration, and system cutover. The engineer is responsible to provide engineering oversight, system installation, configuration, testing, and cutover of new VoIP system. The individual will demonstrate knowledge and experience designing, installing, managing, maintaining and troubleshooting the VoIP network systems and support Army maintenance personnel. Works includes remote engineering preparation and travel to accomplish tasks to complete installation, configuration, testing, and system cutover for customer acceptance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Primarily responsible for providing engineering, installation, configuration, testing and cutover to provide the customer a turn-key, fully operational VoIP network system. This applies to basic data, voice and, VoIP components, and all subsequent phases/additions established in requirements and document in the Engineering Implementation Plan and supporting documents.
  • Will interact with Army network maintainers and VoIP users during the VoIP installation, configuration, testing and cutover process.
  • Individual must be capable of using privileged access to the networking environment.
  • Individual will maintain/update technical documentation for equipment installed as a part of providing required CDRLs for this contract.

QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Strong documentation and writing skills to create and update detail technical documents. Use of Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Word is required.
  • Strong verbal communication to interact with customer and peers
  • Technical Skills:
    • Cisco UCS Servers: BE7M, C-240 and C-220
      • CIMC configuration and troubleshooting hardware issues
      • Understand how to cable and port channels
    • Virtualization: Ability to configure ESXi 6.7 and 7.0 including vswitch, deploy OVAs and install SSL certs
    • UC Applications: Proficient (minimum 5 years) in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting the following:
      • Cisco Communications Manager – Version 12.5
        • Dial-Plan – CSS, Partitions, Route Patterns, Route Lists, Route Groups, Local Route Groups, Translations, SIP Trunking (SIP Profile and Security Profiles)
        • Analog Gateways using SCCP
        • FIPS 140-2 Encryption
        • Encrypting Cluster
        • Integrating LDAP Directory
        • Cluster running in mixed mode
        • Cluster running fully SRTP
        • Media Resources using IOS Hardware/Software
      • Working with Cisco Smart Licensing
      • Cisco Unity Connection – Version 12.5
        • Dual HA Cluster setup and configuration
        • Setting up Users and Auto Attendants
        • SIP Trunking Integration with CUCM
        • Installing SSL certs
      • Cisco UCCX – 12.5
        • Understanding in setting up Agents/Teams/Skills/Queues
        • Basic CCX Scripting a plus but not required
        • Installing SSL certs
      • Cisco CER – 12.5
        • Setting up and configuring HA CER Cluster
        • Configuring Onsite Alerts and Conventual ERL for each site
        • Understanding CUCM dial plan configuration and implementation for CER
        • Installing SSL certs
      • Cisco Webex Meeting Server – 4.x
        • Ability to manage dial – in numbers and meetings for Blast Dial
        • Setting up user and alerting
        • Installing SSL certs
      • Cisco CUBE using 4451 ISRs using HA configuration – 16.12.4
        • Configure and manage dial plan
        • Encryption using DISA guidelines
        • Troubleshoot SIP and audio issues
        • SIP Trunking to CUCM
        • SIP Trunking to DISA SBCs
        • Configuring trustpoints and installing SSL Certs
        • Ability to troubleshoot SRTP audio issues
      • Cisco VG450 Analog Gateways
        • Using Encrypted SCCP/SRTP configuration and troubleshooting
        • Understand Analog wiring and cabling to the VG450
        • Configuring trustpoints and installing SSL Certs
      • The environment is encrypted from signaling and SRTP so important to have worked in a secure environment
      • SSL certificates understanding and creating CSRs and installing them
      • Networking:
        • Good understanding of VLANs and IP Addressing
        • Switching
        • LAN Cabling

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Require minimum 5 years’ experience engineering, installing, managing and troubleshooting VoIP systems
  • Prefer minimum of 5 years’ experience on DoD networks
  • Prefer minimum of 10 years’ experience facility modernization work or system projects of similar scope and complexity
  • Require Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience
